Job description
In the role of Strategic Purchaser, you will define the organisation’s procurement policy including its targets. You will also determine the procurement strategy, i.e. the way in which the company will achieve its procurement goals. In addition, you will decide how the supplier management should look like.
You are involved in every part of the supply chain and will strategically combine all the different links of it. This includes the storage of goods, inbound transport flows, logistics, purchasing and sales. Here, you will look at both short-term and long-term purchasing policy and have an eye for current prices and market evolutions.

Building and maintaining purchasing partnerships.

Monitoring supplier performance + organising quality audits.

Drafting procurement quality improvement plans.

Optimising the procurement process.

Thinking about the procurement policy with management.

Acting as a sparring partner for procurement-related issues.

Supporting and coaching your purchasing colleagues.
Your profile

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, with technical affinity/background or equivalent is a plus.

Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a purchasing role, in an international environment.

Excellent and proven negotiation skills.

Good people relations and management skills.

Willing to travel.

You are flexible and can work independently.

You can handle work pressure well and work accurately.
